After decades of keeping journals and road notes starting a blog sounded like a good idea....so here goes.
December 8 2005
For the most part the entries will be about my life as an artist, and a few things I am passionate about.
What do I do?
I'm an artist that uses the camera to create art. My work is very primitive in nature.
The Edwardian and Victorian age has always interested me. The cameras I use are from that era. My favorite is an 1890 Korona 7x11 field view that can use both 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch and 7x11 inch film.
I coat my own papers to create either Cyanotypes,Palladium or Salted Paper prints.
I've been doing this since I got out of College. Its all I know.
My work has been exhibited around the world in both museums and galleries like the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, the LA County Museum, the Frances Loehmann Loeb Center and currently it is included in a Landscape exhibit at the Israel Museum.
As the days and months pass I'll post some examples of my work on this blog.
Shoot me an email if you have any questions or comments.
Some of my other posts will be about my life as an Ironman athlete.
Triathlon is part of my life.
Its what I do to keep from taking life too seriously. It keeps me grounded.
It keeps me wholesome.
I need it more than I care to admit.
So there. : )
