The People We Love


Lately I've been going through some strong feelings about how our lives are passing by so quickly. Why do the days feel shorter and shorter. What ever happened to the days of old ,where time just sat at an idle ? I used to think Summer was when it all slowed down, but not any more.

This past one flew by .

I think children are the true high watermarks of how time passes. Having one myself, that is well documented by way of pictures makes it even more apparent .

She's a teenager now. Full of life, busy as a bee and spending less and less time with her Mom and Dad.

I know its normal , but neverthless a rather large pill to swallow. We're very close . I was a stay-at home dad for the first 4 years of her life.

She's inspired me for so long now . Fortunately , we have a lot in common.

So I came across this photograph I made of Amanda and her mother . I took this somewhere in West Sheffield , Massachusetts. I was working with the 11x14 camera a lot in those days. The light was " Loud As Bells ! " my favorite saying(by Raoul Coutard,French Cinematograper) .

Claudia has this wonderful expression on her face. I very rarely capture that with her. Its a small triumph really ! And Mandy's smile is wonderfully mishievious.
