Walker Evans:Still Relevant


The capacity to see clearly, without subjectivity ,is why Evans continues to be important.

He portrayed America in a way that preserved our cultural vernacular. Some might call the work cold,documentarian in nature, even just another FSA effort,but as this contact strip so clearly shows- Evans made pictures that remind us of who we were.

Almost as if he knew ahead of time this stuff matters,maybe not at that particular moment...but certainly down the road.
