Ok ! I'll Bite
It looks like I've been tagged by Kona Shelley for this Q&A thats going around.
1- Most embarassing moment from your first tri .
My first triathlon was a sprint out in Rhode Island. I forgot to put on my race jersey underneath my wetsuit...so once out of the water and into transition I realized I didn't have my towel. It was hilarious trying to get on my skin tight jersey while wet. Man ! I think it took my a couple of minutes......I must have looked like a freakin' sausage out there by the beach .
2-A moment from your most recent race
I'll pick a low-point for this one.
My last race up to this point was a local 15K. I knew it was a tough course, but we can't just race the easy ones...so I pulled the trigger and toed the line.
My body just didn't respond that day. I felt great right up until the start, then all of a sudden I had a feeling of impending hardship.
I must have physiologically triggered some bad mojo, which resulted in a pretty bad race for me.
Going into it I was well trained, as it was during the early part of my marathon build, and running was consistent and solid. But, if anything it turned out as a huge lesson for me. In fact it was good that it happened as I promised myself to focus harder and that the mental softness is what led to my demise, and NOT anything else. Any distance race of 10K or longer demands total focus. I've learned that now.
3- Most Important moment for you in triathlon.
Thats easy. It was this past July as I crossed the finish line at Ironman USA with my daughter.
I'll never forget that. Its my touchstone.
4-Big Goal for 07
To be a better person is on the top of my list every year. Its something that I strive for on a daily basis.
PR my marathon is one thats the most current, and of course I'd like to break 14 hrs at IMLP.
I know there's another question I must have missed but I'm on the road so I gotta go.
I'm going to tag my pal Erika aka Trailbait on Slowtwitch, www. tribabe.blogspot.com
