The Last Days of 2006

First off I hope that everyone in Bloggerville had a great holiday !

Spent Christmas in Lake Placid which was awesome. It snowed on the 24th so we had a total White X-mas. Santa was good. Gee I wonder how those elves made my aero helmet so cool looking ? ; )

Took all of that week easy. The only run I did up there was an 8 miler from our house which is near the Swiss Inn on Saranac Lk Drive to the bike turnaround of the Ironman course and back home.

This week has been easy too as I wanted to cycle down until the first week of January to make my final key push for the Hyannis Marathon.Oddly enough I was worried about gaining a few holiday pounds, but it seems as if I actually lost some weight as I didn't feel like eating too much and starting all over again. Must have been all that good wine I drank over the holidays as it left me too buzzed to eat. The Wine Diet ! LOL!

So for the rest of the week I'm focusing on some business finances, getting out new work that was done in Europe, and setting aside time for Core Focused WO's.

By the way I got my copy of Running On The Sun. Its the documentary about the Badwater 135 mile Ultramarathon that takes place in the middle of July in 110 F heat. Good film, well done and very inspiring. Personally I have no interest in any Ultra distance beyond 50 miles as I am a firm believer of self preservation.

The punishment and internal stress that the human body goes thru during a 100+ mile race is waaaay too much in my book. Not interested in anything where death or possible brain damage is a certain risk. Nevertheless.....I applaud those that have gotten the belt buckle.

See you in 2007 !

The wine diet! Sounds like a good plan. :)

I have wanted to see that film, Running on the Sun. Do you have to buy it or can you rent it from Block Buster?

I hope you have a great 2007, Swordfish! I look forward to reading about your training adventures.
