Its A Beautiful Day

This is my first post of 2007 and as the U2 song goes.....Its a beautiful day, the sun is beaming and its not too cold here in the Northeast. Can't ask for more.

We brought in the New Years with a bang at a party our friends the Sherwoods hosted. I was the DD so after 1 light beer I was drinking water for the entire party which is fine as I am on a very tight regime from this point on. It felt good being around close friends .

The next morning was my first "Big 'Brick" of the the new year- 2:15 bike+1:10 run. This was a great test for my base, and I came away feeling like I hardly worked out....I REALLY wanted to do more ,but I am also working on discipline and sticking with planned WO's so stopped and did some Yoga, crunches and stretching.

The rest of the week is an easy ramp-up back to my 45-55 mpw schedule.

C is sort of on track for a marathon PR at Disney. I wish she ran a bit more, but in her case less is more applies. I'm thinking if she paces conservatively until mile 20 she'll be in the 5 hr group..maybe a minute or 2 better.

I don't make resolutions, but I do set up goals for the structure of my new year and I want to write down and go public with some of them.

-Focus on my family more
-Set up my archive + create a Master Portfolio that I dipped into in 04-06
-Spend more time reading all the important essays and books I'm not
-Paint more
-A strong Mutual Fund by the end of 07
-A better Christian

You are a machine, a three plus hour workout and you thought is was "nothing". You are obviously in fantasic health!

Glad you shared some of your goals with us. I think a lot of us are getting back to basics and spending more time with family/spouses.

When is C's marathon?
