Run Forest Run !

The last week and a half has been nothing short of nuts so I'm quite pleased that I've once again bumped up my run mileage. My legs are feeling pretty damn good at this point after logging 30 miles last week.Looking at 35 for this week with some track work by the weekend. I really want to shoot for a 1:55ish 13.1 at the 1/2IM in Vermont.

Ran with C Saturday to get her prepped for the West Point Tri....her first !

She hadn't done any speed work in months and had gotten slow...so after a 3 mile warmup I got her going on some strides. I think her legs woke up- cause she hauled ass for the last 2 miles. I always told her she could be a great runner if she just worked on it.

I don't know too many folks that can run a marathon without running a mile 2 months out. Yup ! She got injured a few months before the San Diego Marathon in 05 and couldn' t run at all.Bound and determined, she still went for it and finished !

It still blows me away how she did that !

I need to get a hard session in before my 1/2 Im so I'm planning a huge day tomorrow.

3K Swim ( aerobic) + 3 hr bike ( 30min WU-4x5's @ HIM- 4x10's @ IM +45 @ steady) + 35 min Run.

I'd like to log in at least 2 of these before the 20th. No taper going into the 1/2 ~

IN OTHER NEWS ...............

As I was driving the other day I noticed that the grass wasn't growing as vigorously. Uh Oh..summers winding up. Its been a strange one in certain aspects.

We got a lot of rain in June. Then July was mostly hot and humid, more so than I can recall.

If there is one thing about this summer so far that I've enjoyed is that we didn't get any Japanese Beetles and that the Skeeters weren't as bad as we thought they would get.

The orchard fruit looks like crap with all the rain we've gotten. The apples are all scabbed out from fungus. The peaches look good.

Looks like I sold some photographs yesterday. This collector already owns one of my platinum prints and I gave him a good deal on this aquisition.....so not too shabby.

C sounds like an amazing woman. You'll have to post about her race!

Sounds like a lot of training today. You'll be a tired puppy.

Glad you sold some photos. Is it as bad as selling the goats?

LOL !

Nah ! Selling my photographs and paintings don't hurt as much as selling goats...at least I don't think so.

Actually I have a harder time letting go of a painting as its the only example available, where as I make quite a few of the pictures.
