3 DAYS GRACE

I got in some good efforts this week. All short and sweet since I'm racing the Northern Columbia tri this Sunday.

Did the race in 05 and came in 55th OA and just missed top 10 in my AG, so since there's some pent up rage in me.............I'm planning on upgrading from Coach to at least Business Class by the end of the day.

In othere news............a bunch of my family (wife's side) is starting to arrive from all over the world.
Its my daughter's debutante ball next Friday and its a real big to do...........insanely out of control at this point, but she's worth it.

Yesterday, I took my 2 nephews Bobby and Johnny from LA out for a 12 mile trail ride. Luckily I have a crap load of bikes in the barn, so with little effort I got them fitted on a hardtail and a hybrid.

It was a fantastic day ! Lo 80's in temps, clear as a bell and just perfect. They're great kids, 17 and 14 yrs old.
They'd never gone that far on a bike so they ended up w/ some sore asses, but they didn't complain once .
Coming from the city they're just not used to all the splendors of country living. They kept saying " I want to live here "..........makes me feel good .

Tomorrow, another group is arriving from Mexico. I met them a few years ago at a wedding, so looking forward to seeing all of them again as they're good peeps !

Lots of partying at the Swordfish ranch in the next 2 weeks!

Here's my gameplan for the race:

Swim: 400 yds- Line up right at the front since this distance is my specialty. Last year I was 7th fastest, Sunday I want to go balls to the wall and get in a top 5 or better.

Bike: 18.5 miles of rollers w/ 2 fairly steep 1 mile-ish climbs. I think I might take out Eva since she climbs waay better than the p3....maybe, I'll make the call tomorrow. My legs feel good , so I'm going to push at 155bp's.

Run: 4.5 miles w/ 1 steep hill thats about a mile, then lots of downhills to the finish. Did it in 42 mins in 05, would like to break 39 on Sunday. Thats about a 9:10 pace. Its going to take a real gut-check to hit that time, especially w/that hill......but I'll go til I puke up a lung....I only need 1 anyways .

Have a great weekend if you're racing....if not.........drink up and pass the chips & salsa.
