Tuesday Ramblings
Went out and voted a few hours ago. I was pleasantly surprised how many cars were in the Fire Dept parking lot.
In our small town us Demmys vote in the same space as Republicans..........so its always odd seeing what party your neighbors affiliate with.
I'm venturing a guess that a bunch of folks dressed a bit incognito. I say whatever . As long as you vote is all that matters.
New York is in need of some serious tax reform. Its the state with the heaviest tax on property and school taxes.
The number of families,at least in my area, that are putting up For Sale signs on their homes are growing. The middle-upper middle class can't afford Columbia County any more. They make just enough to get by,but aren't saving much due to the re-finance boom of 3 years ago. They're all mortgaged up the wazoo.
Without getting into why, fortunately-we aren't in that category, so thank God we can stay put so long as we stay smart, cheap and thrifty like there's no discretionary money at all,and often times there isn't.
In other news...I'm on my second day of tapering for the 15K race I'm doing on Sunday. My training leading up to Monday has been my best ever. I've got a lot of quality miles on my legs good a few strength sessions in, also my tempo runs went well, so all I've got to do is be patient and get my legs and body to a fully rested state for Sunday.
As I played with the dogs earlier I noticed that most of the leaves were off the trees and its getting colder. Old man winter is almost around the bend.
Can't help but wish for warm,or even better , the hot June days I did all those rides on. Man I love the heat !
Those were some of the best days of my life ! Bryan Adams sang it so well .
