I'm pleasantly surprised how good my body feels post Ironman.
I ran for an hour Friday, nice and slow, then this morning I decided to join my running group for a 9 mile run since they were all so cool about tracking my race.I think they like the idea that they now have an Ironman vet as a member of their group. We've got some serious talent . Karen D is a 4 time Boston qualifier, and runs consistent 3:07's as well as some fast guys in the half mary and 10K distances.
I think they thought I was just kidding showing up and that I'd just wait for them at the Bagel Cafe to finish....NOT ! I laid low for the first 5 miles then hammered with them for the last 4, so that was very very satisfying indeed.
Came home and made Banana pancakes for C and I...we chowed like wolves!
By 2 pm I stopped by the LBS and found out my NEW Cervelo P3 Carbon was done all ready to take home. OMG ! its a work of art . Boing !
So we packed it up and also took C's new Fuji Bordeaux road bike as she needed to get used to it before the West Point Tri which will be her first.
Headed up to Old Chatham and rode for an hour. It was very cool riding side by side. The P3 is as good as the hype. Its hard to describe why. My S Works is awesome too, but not in the same league. Maybe thats the magic of carbon fiber -its smoothness and stiffness.
After getting showered up we decide its a good night for Japanese, so we got all gussied up and went to Wasabi on Warren Street in Hudson where we had some awesome Sushi(smoked eel rolls ) then for the main course Tempura vegetables and Green Tea. Man I am stuffed !
Now that I'm done with my entry I've got some Vanilla & Black Cherry ice cream waiting for me upstairs.

Sounds like an awesome day! It's amazing you recovered so easily after your Ironman.
Your wife is going to do her first tri? When? That's very exciting!
Sushi, yummah. I'm a sushi newbie and just tried it a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised.
Okay...you are claiming "boing" without sharing pictures...how rude!
