Carpe Diem

Upon waking this morning I was overcome with a feeling of satisfaction.

Satisfaction in how everything is.

The sky outside was amazing, the smell of a eastern summer morning in the country is a scent I will never tire of.

Before I went to sleep the night before , I had been reminiscing of some of the fantastic places I have travelled to in my lifetime. The great American Southwest states, the Pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico, trekking from the southern most tip of Hwy 1 in the Cali-Mexico border to the northern most tip of Washington state near Vancouver. I know Highway north of Tomales like the back of my hand.

Lived in Europe for a while, and we'll be going to Florence, Paris, Portofino and Tuscany in the Fall.

So with all this in my head I fell asleep knowing full well that I have been blessed and that anything else is icing on the proverbial cake.

For breakfast I inhaled one of my faves. Waffles with mashed bananas , peanut butter and honey. Washed it down with 2 cups of Nuculeer grade java. Black like my cars and bikes!

My knee felt waay better so I thought that todays session of B/R might yield positive vibes.

I decided to do some of the much neglected yard work first. Good way to stretch the calves and warm up anyway. Mowed for almost 2 freakin hours.

Showered, took care of some business on line and off I went.

25 miles into the ride and I felt very good, pushed it a bit and came home after 35 miles for a 5K T-run, massaged showered and thanked the Lord for curing his hopeless sinner of a son, but one who loves him dearly. AMEN! I'm back in business.

At this point I'll ramp up easily since I've got most of my key miles in already. I'll hope to get in 2 more 100 milers and a good supply of 60 milers done by July 10.

I heard on NPR/WAMC that there is an Edward Weston exhibit travelling to Glens Falls so that will be something to look forward to.

Next Monday is the start of an easy week, so I'm hoping to get some darkroom work done as well as ressurecting the 20x24 camera for some pinhole paper negative work.
